Inadequate physical activity and a poor diet are considered to be leading causes of many major diseases. Exercise has potent effects on the metabolism of both macro and micronutrients. Exercise and nutrition together offer a powerful intervention for many health problems, including sarcopenia, metabolic disease and obesity. This course is designed to give students an understanding of the fundamental interactions between exercise, nutrition and health, mainly with lifestyle changes based on current international dietary and physical activity guidelines.
