Nutrition in Sports

Description
This course examines the physiology of exercise, macronutrient and micronutrient requirements, and fluid needs of athletes engaged in all form of sports. It also covers gender-specific requirements, appropriate dietary habits pre/post-exercise, and the recent knowledge on the role of potential ergogenic aids. NTR Herbs, Foods and Phytochemicals (3.0); 3 cr. This course covers the health risks and benefits of herbal medicines and food phytochemical use. The active ingredients of the different herbs and their mode of action along with the clinical applications will be presented.
