Nutrition Psychology

This course explores the relationship between nutrition and psychology, and the characteristics of human behavior that affects people’s dietary patterns. It covers the biological, emotional, cognitive, and environmental functions in dietary adherence. Proficient methods of counseling patients and encouraging changes will be emphasized. NTR Integrated Metabolic Regulation (3.0); 3 cr. This course provides recent knowledge in metabolic regulation in cells and tissues. Emphasis will be placed on relevant endocrine organs and hormones, mechanisms involved in metabolic regulation, the integration of macronutrients metabolism, the nervous system’s involvement in metabolism, diabetes mellitus, lipoproteins metabolism, and energy balance and body weight regulation.
