Advanced Human Nutrition and Metabolism

This course covers human physiological needs, how food groups covers the body’s needs such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and control of nutrient metabolism, and methods covers the application of the principles of dietetics counseling in hospital and clinical settings. Emphasis is placed on the techniques of behavior modification, counseling, dietary intake evaluation, team concepts of patient care, and strategies for promoting change in nutritional education. Prerequisite: Senior Standing. Passing grade for majors: “C.”
