Description
This is hands-on system vulnerabilities like stake and heapoverflows, return to libc attacks etc. Attack counter measures, such as stack guard and address space randomization are discussed. The students are expected to write their own exploits in addition to applying known exploits in a controlled linux/x86 environment. Viruses and worms are covered along with defenses like disinfection, integrity checking and sandboxing.
