This course is an introduction to the field of data science and the workflow of a data scientist: it provides student with basic skills and tools in acquiring, parsing, manipulating, and preparing data for statistical analysis. Topics include: data acquisition, cleaning, and management; graphical, descriptive, and inferential statistical methods; resampling, randomization, and simulation. Prerequisites: CSC 210 or CSC 212 or CSC 215 or CSC 216.
