Cultural Pluralism in the Middle East

Survey of the development of Middle Eastern society focusing on the role of linguistic and confessional minorities, concepts of diversity, ethnic oppression, and inter-group relations explored within a comparative historical context. Emphasis will be placed on current theoretical discourse on hybridity, diversity, and the roles played by globalization, migration, and cyberspace in the region.
