An overview of international and regional human rights instruments and institutions, focusing on the manner in which the UN, Middle Eastern, European, InterAmerican, African, and Asian human rights systems seek to protect individual and group rights. Examination of the problems these systems have encountered in discharging their mandate and exploration of ways to strengthen international and regional governmental and non-governmental efforts in the human rights field.
