Private International Law I: Conflict of Laws

Description
The course examines the following topics: • Definition, nature, and scope of Private International Law, its relation to International Law; • General historical development of the doctrines of Private International Law; and • The conflict of laws theory: rules of conflict, classification and qualification, public policy, falsity before the law, rules of the foreign law. Language of Instruction: English (legal terms, however, are also given in Arabic and French).
