This course covers personal status laws and regulations of the various Lebanese religious groups recognized officially by the Lebanese Constitution. The course examines the following topics: • Marriage; • Betrothal; • Divorce; • Limited Divorce (a mensa et thoro separation); • Filiations; • Minority; • Guardianship (wardship); • Alimony; and • Personal Status Courts, (organization, procedure, judgments). Language of Instruction: Arabic (legal terms, however, are also given in English and French).
