Description
This course examines Lebanese and of the history, theory, craft, and current practices within the genre of documentary filmmaking. Topics include, investigating current theoretical debates surrounding documentary filmmaking by exploring a variety of styles, forms, and conventions through both film studies and production components. Prerequisite: AVF 275. Arab Cinema through the notion of cultural and national identity in both its personal and collective representation. It focuses on a body of films made in countries such as Lebanon, Egypt, Palestine, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, and others.
