Dramatic Art

This course traces the history of the western theater from its origins till the 20th century. It discusses the formation, development, aesthetic, and thematic qualities of major theater movements, schools, and genres. The course also introduces students to leading theater artists and provides a brief overview of Asian and oriental theater.
