FEM for Fluid Dynamics

Analysis of finite element methods for basic problems in fluid mechanics. Scalar transport equations. Compressible and incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. Emphasis on developing and analyzing formulations that are stable and higher-order accurate such as Galerkin/least-squares methods and SUPG methods. Prerequisite: MEN 672.
