Optimal dispatch of generation. Synchronous machine transient analysis. Balanced and unbalanced short-circuits, balanced threephase fault and systematic fault analysis. Symmetrical components and unbalanced faults. Transient stability and numerical solution of the swing equation. Power system control. Prerequisite: EEN 452. energy resources: key figures, energy extraction, global installed capacity and current trends. Wind turbine generating systems: energy conversion process, rotor power coefficient and Betz limit, power curve, wind generators, statistics and resources, environmental impact and economics. Photovoltaic energy systems: types and applications, main components, peakpower trackers, estimation of energy production, module/ inverter selection, voltage drop and wiring as per NEC. Fundamentals of smart grids: architecture, innovative monitoring solutions and sensing devices, demand response and management systems. Prerequisite: EEN 350. cameras, radiometry. Local Shading models; point, line, and area sources photometric stereo, color – physics. Human perception, color spaces. camera models and their calibration. Linear Filters, texture as statistics of filter outputs. Texture synthesis. Multi-view geometry, stereo cameras. Segmentation, neural network classification. Tracking. Prerequisite: EEN 340.
