Electric Drives

Introduction to elements of drive systems, characterization of mechanical loads, requirements of electric drive systems, dc drives with various power electronics-based conversion sources, dynamic equations and closed loop control of dc drives, induction motor drives, ac controller, slip-energy recovery, volts/Hz control, synchronous motor drives, permanent magnet motors, reluctance motors. Prerequisites: EEN 210, EEN 350.
