Description
Introduction to the concepts, techniques and methodology of modern operations management. Topics covered include forecasting, production planning and scheduling, facility location and layout, quality control, productivity, inventory systems, process design, maintenance, and organization. Students will develop a strategic plan for a traditional business which could adopt digital technologies and strategies and will present the plan as a business pitch. This course discusses the foundations and key aspects of Digital Business while focusing on the latest developments in the e-commerce and e-marketing industry. Practical case studies offer a useful reference for dealing with various issues such as latest applications, management techniques, and marketing tools. Prerequisites: MRK 201 & MGT 201.
