Latin American Music

This course will introduce students to the most important artists of Latin American music. The students will learn how to define, describe, and aurally decipher between styles of music from a variety of Latin American countries. The course covers lectures and research projects. sight singing and ear training of jazz music. It focuses on reaching and analyzing complex melodies and rhythms. Prerequisite: MUJ 411.
