This course is intended to expose engineers and scientists to the concepts and terminology that are relevant to the broad range of biological disciplines. The first part of the course discusses general introductory topics in biology. The second part emphasizes topics related to environmental applications, namely, sanitary microbiology, ecology and toxicology (it is not open to sciences students as a major requirement).
