MGT 880YTopics: Women in Leadership

This graduate-level seminar is designed for MBA and HMR students who seek a rigorous, research-informed examination of leadership and its gendered dimensions. The course moves beyond foundational surveys to engage with primary scholarship, advanced theoretical frameworks, and critical analysis of organizational and societal systems that shape women’s leadership trajectories.Students will interrogate intersecting structures of gender, race, class, and identity as they operate within leadership contexts across sectors. The course challenges students to apply advanced critical thinking to assess organizational practices, propose evidence-based interventions, and develop original research or applied frameworks. Seminar participants are expected to lead scholarly discussions, contribute original perspectives, and engage with current empirical literature.
