LAS 212Communication in the Age of AI

Liberal Studies · 3 credits
This course explores Hybrid Human–AI Communication, defined as the collaborative exchange between human intelligence and generative tools to create and share knowledge. Students will master functional, critical, and rhetorical literacies to navigate two primary communication tracks: Human-to-AI dialogue (through prompt engineering and AI-simulated interviews) and AI-augmented Human-to-Human communication channels (through peer interviews, academic posters, and oral presentations). By examining the ethical boundaries of a post-plagiarism environment, students will learn to treat AI as a communication partner in research and a supportive tool for public speaking, ultimately producing a professional academic project that reflects their ability to synthesize AI-generated data with original human insight. Pre-requisite: ENG101 Academic English I
