Design of biological treatment processes for diverse and sustainable wastewater treatment. Focus on targeted pollutant removal in combination with resource recovery (i.e., water for reuse, nutrients, and energy). Advanced aerobic, anaerobic, suspended growth, attached growth, and membrane-based technologies are emphasized. Conceptual and practical design applications are introduced. Prerequisite: CIE 426: Wastewater collection and treatment.
