This course constitutes a study of the law of property, its objectives and institutions and considers the role of property rights and institutions on resources, fairness, freedom and society and examines the eventual conflict of interests among individuals, groups and governments. This course will be taught within the context of specific applications such as land, environmental resources, ideas, music, body, family, self, etc. The course examines doctrines such as transfer, assignment, future interests, covenants and easements, trespass and nuisance, zoning, landlord-tenant and eminent domain.
