ARCH 570FWorkshop: Contemporary Techniques in Architecture Sketching

This course introduces students to the basic techniques of architectural sketching as applied to both modern and traditional architecture. Emphasis is placed on pen sketching as a primary method for observing and representing buildings, spaces, and architectural details. Through guided exercises and on-site observation, students develop skills in proportion, perspective, light, and texture. The course also introduces selective uses of Artificial Intelligence as a tool to enhance sketches, encouraging students to explore the interaction between traditional drawing and emerging digital technologies.
