Description
This course introduces the basic principles of mechanics and structural analysis in order to understand the behavior of structural systems and their implication in the built environment. Core structural concepts including force, load, stress, and strain are addressed, and graphic and numeric analyses of statically determined and undetermined members allow the students to apply and verify these concepts in their investigations of basic structural systems. Prerequisites: MTH101 (minimum grade C+) MTH102 (minimum grade C+) and PHY111 (miniimum grade C+).
