Description
An introduction to the works of the Rahbani Brothers – Assi and Mansour – with the legendary Fairuz, which represent the golden age of music and song in Lebanon. The course includes a selection of the Rahbani musicals and an in-depth analysis of the plot, dialogue, acting and unique lyrics and compositions. The course will be taught by renowned Lebanese poet and writer Henri Zogheib, who accompanied the Rahbani Brothers and Fairuz in the making of some of their best songs and musicals. The medium of instruction is Arabic. [3-0, 3 cr.]
