Methods of Teaching English as Foreign Language

Description
This course philosophies and teaching approaches used to teach reading in the elementary school. Phonemic awareness, phonics instruction, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension will be emphasized as they are considered critical elements in the development of literacy. Students will also explore the methods of teaching reading of English to students from a bilingual or trilingual background. Corequisite: EDU 201. is similar to EDU 350 but focuses on the teaching of the four language skills at various learning stages. Corequisite: EDU 313.
