Water and the Environment

This is an introductory course addressing the interactions between water and the natural environment, and the role of human activities in these interactions. This course covers a broad range of topics, including climate change, the hydrologic cycle, watershed hydrology, runoff generation, groundwater, point and nonpoint sources of pollution, best management practices and a multitude of water quality issues. Local, regional and international case studies will be covered to foster a better understanding of water quality and quantity concepts, applications and principles.
