Description
Introduces the basic statistical methods that are commonly used for managerial decision-making. Emphasis is on applying methods and interpreting results. Extensive use of statistical software. The course first reviews the descriptive statistics and basic concepts of probability distributions, in particular the normal distribution. Then the course studies topics on inferential statistics such as confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, one-way analysis of variance and correlation analysis. The course finally covers simple linear regression and introduces students to multiple linear regression and time series forecasting.
