She was one of the best courses I've taken so far. She's such a great professor and the course is cool. 2 tests and a final which are fairly simple just an essay. Weekly readings that are mostly poems and if not then short stories. Highly recommend this course
ENGL 207 with Syrine Hout is a great course with a reasonable workload, as long as students pay attention and put in the effort.
If ENGL 207 is offered by Syrine Hout, students say to go for it, preferring her section over the alternative.
Syrine Hout is a great lecturer for ENGL 207, with interesting material for poetry lovers; the class had three online papers, and she pushes students to think outside the box. She is a bit picky with grading, though, so the highest grade attainable is an A (no A+).
Students strongly warn against taking ENGL 207 with Joshua David, telling others to run and never register with him.
my favorite course of all time. the class discussions are always so interesting and the prof is amazing and is enthusiastic about teaching the material. I wish I can retake this course. writing the papers is not exactly easy but it forces u to think outside the box for once.
Such an interesting course and all you have to do is read the poems assigned for each week and write three papers. The papers are easy if you know how to write a good argument.
Engl 207 is a lovely course with Lara. You take poems and some prose on the Romantic, Victorian and Modernism Eras. You have 3 responses, three exams and one presentation. Grades are high if you show hard work and participation. I recommend it.
