The Formation of Islamic Thought

A survey of major disciplines in Islamic thought as they developed in the first four centuries of Islamic history. The course covers topics such as the compilation of the Qur’an and Qur’an interpretation, the development of hadith, the evolution of legal thinking and legal schools, political thought, theological discussions, and sectarian movements.
