Description
A chronological and topical survey of the political and socio-economic forces that have shaped early modern Europe and the rest of the world, including the voyages of discovery, the development of a global economy, the Enlightenment, the American Revolution, the French Revolution, and the downfall of Napoleon. Attention is given to teaching students how to tackle historical problems and how to initiate and conduct research. Open to freshman students only.
