Computer Organization

Electrical and Computer Engineering ยท M.S. Faculty of Engineering and Architecture
This course covers single-core microprocessor computer organization and basic input/ output mechanisms. Students learn how to program microprocessors at the assembly level and how to design the main core components of a von Neumann computer system, including its instruction set architecture, datapath, control unit, cache and system buses. To consolidate the material, students work on a VHDL design project of a singlecycle MIPS microprocessor core.
