Elementary Statistics for the Sciences

Description
Populations, samples, and sampling error; types of data, frequency distributions,
and graphical displays of data; empirical definition of probability and probability
distributions; conditional probability, independence, Bayesβ rule, and counting rules;
discrete and continuous distributions, random variables, binomial, normal, and t
distributions; point and interval estimation and hypothesis testing; linear regression and correlation. Computer packages may be used to illustrate methods. Students who successfully finish STAT 210 will not receive credit for STAT 201, STAT230, or ECON 213.
