An introduction to the techniques, theories, and debates concerning ethnographic fieldwork. What do anthropologists actually do and what is unique about anthropological research? This course explores the politics and ethics of research, kinds of observation, effective interviewing strategies, note-taking, ways of βcodingβ or indexing information, data analysis, and approaches to writing.
