Stochastic analysis tools and simulation techniques. Evaluating the performance of modern telecommunications networks in terms of fundamental quality of service metrics such as offered load, response time, service time, waiting time, utilization, loss rates, achievable throughput. Markovian queueing systems, embedded Markov chains and general service queueing systems. Applications to modern telecommunications networks, pseudorandom number generation. Estimation techniques. Simulation design and models verification and validation. Prerequisite: EEN 342/CSC 425. Corequisite: EEN 443. EN
