This course covers fine points of English writing including: clarity, accuracy of style, proofreading, and revision. It is also a useful resource to develop practical writing skills to an advanced level. This course builds upon the skills acquired in “English Writing Skills” to further develop students’ critical thinking and academic writing competencies. The course devotes a good part of the semester to the skills of writing summaries, critiques, syntheses, paraphrasing, and using quotations. It then leads students through the process of writing a research paper.
