This course exposes the student to the main management principles in interior design with the understanding that this profession is an integral part of the construction industry. The student will learn the different management techniques and skills that an interior designer needs to practice in his or her business formation starting with manning his or her office, ending up with a contract, and passing by all the processes that require a businesslike attitude. Finally, the student will learn the design-built team working approach. Corequisite: IDP 422. FASHION DESIGN THE DEGREE OF BACHELOR OF ARTS IN FASHION DESIGN Degree Requirements (102 credits) Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (LAC) 30 cr. Program Description Core Requirements 3 cr. Lebanon has already established itself in the international fashion design industry; as a result, there is vast potential for a thriving local market in need of competent fashion designers. Graduates will be able to produce traditional as well as innovative and contemporary design concepts suitable for the national, regional, and international market. This program combines advanced design concepts supported by current technology to produce creative and original individual prototypes for haute couture or industrial production. Career Opportunities Graduates of the Fashion Design program will be equipped to pursue diverse and dynamic careers within the fashion industry. They will be prepared to excel as designers of innovative collections, textile and surface designers, patternmakers, fashion journalists, brand managers, and professionals across various sectors of fashion marketing and commerce. Mission The mission of the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fashion Design is to train students in critical and creative thinking through visual communication in fashion design illustrations, studio, and patternmaking, and to expand student awareness of research, history, trends, concepts, and marketing in fashion design.
