Florian is an excellent professor ! His explanations are clear and his exams are fair. He always has a manageable test and a harder one. However note that his workload is not light. You'll have at least 11 assignments (we had 13 last spring). But overall you'll enjoy the course with him
I've been asking the same question for a while, and most recommended Abi Khuzam. Tlas' approach in 210 is very different from the way he handles courses like 201, 202. And Abi Khuzam seems better versed in the topic
Math 210 with richard must be 15 credits alone . Workload. Hard exams. Long extra sessions. Hell.
If you are willing to work hard for the course, if you want to make the most out of it then for sure take with Richard. Throughout the semester, he will be constantly challenging you to go beyound your limits and progress. He gives regular assignment which might be tough and long sometimes, but it is essential to work on them by your own, without the help of someone else. His exams are long (usually 3 hours long), there are a lot of challenging parts in it, he gives you new definitions and new concepts and asks you to prove stuff related to these new concepts. Taking the course with him will give you a feel of what higher mathematics is like. But keep in mind that if you are going to take the course with him, you will have to work extremly hard for it, don't take it as an overload, make sure you will have enough time to dedicate to this course. But on the bright side, hard work pays off, he does not mind putting extremly high grades and you benefit from the course a lot.
Just to be purely objective, he explains really well and helps his students, besides all this there is workload (weekly hw) which may not seem trivial but they are rewarding if you do on your own. If your aiming to take higher mathematics, I suggest to take 210 with him.
the first 90 points of his exams are pretty systematic (you pretty much know what style you're gonna get), explanations weren't bad at all, and you get a relatively good raise.
