This course explores the everyday practices of the larger structures that create and perpetuate power. It emphasizes students’ awareness of the state apparatus, nonstate political systems and modes of political exclusion that shape the experience of power locally and trans-nationally. It uses prominent schools of thought, among them Marxism, feminism, Foucauldian and post-colonial theories to provoke critical analyses of power in our own lives
