## Student reviews

16 of 16 reviews by students who took the course. Any review carried over from
elsewhere is marked with its source on its own line.

- **2/5 · 2023-01** — Students find the BIOL 201 textbook too passive to study from and look for YouTube channels or other online sources to cover the material instead.

- **4/5 · 2023-06** — Zakaria Kambris is recommended over Noel Ghanem for BIOL 201.

- **4/5 · 2022-08** — Zakaria is recommended for BIOL 201 over Noel since he's a more lenient grader.

- **5/5 · 2022-08** — Zakaria is strongly recommended for BIOL 201 over Noel — students say to go with Zak all the way.

- **4/5 · 2022-08** — Dr. Zakaria Kambris is recommended as the best instructor for Biology 201.

- **4/5 · 2022-08** — Zackaria is recommended over Noel for BIOL 201; he's nice and explains well.

- **2021-08** — I achieved 95 on this course. I would recommend to take it with Dr Noel despite the negative feedback about him since he is the coordinator of the course and has more experience teaching it although he's not so friendly (you can't ask questions during lectures for example). The exam is common and all what you need to ace it is to study every single detail in the book.

- **2020-11** — Very fast pace. 90% of the lecture is reading from the slides. Lectures are useless, slides are very summarized. Focus on the book and CONNECT questions!

- **2020-11** — Noel is very monotonous and most of us find it really hard to focus with him. Sign in on the lectures for attendance and mute lol. The book is very comprehensive and has great examples. As a general rule read and understand the book and then memorize the information in his lecture slides for the assignments. The midterm and final will have way more details from the book so you might wanna have that down too. Do all the connect questions, always.

- **2020-08** — It doesn't really matter with whom you take this course. Mohammad Al Zein is the lab coordinator. He doesn't lecture the course. Noel and Zakaria are both good as lecturers. You have to register for both the lecture and the lab.

- **2020-02** — Great instructor. Medium workload.

- **2019-08** — As for bio, kambris is really nice but boring and makes referrals to things he thinks you already know. I heard noel is better and more fun tho

- **2019-08** — noel is the same as kambris. However noel does before every lecture a quick review in which he passes over the main topics in the exam.

- **2019-08** — Bio, Noel has more experience teaching the course but he's not so friendly, Zakaria is great if you have questions etc, but he's used to teach students that already have a background in the subject so he might assume you know certain things that you don't. But personally i'd say don't bother attending. The book is your best friend, everything you need is in there, save your time and effort.

- **2019-08** — Noel doesn't explain anything and only reads the slides. Zakaria is a sweetheart.

- **2019-08** — Noel explains better than Zakaria and the exam is common.
